Garage Upgrades

TV mounting and gym mirrors. The work that comes after the storage is in, when the garage stops being where things go and starts being somewhere you spend time.

TV mounting is quoted on the wall and the bracket. Everything here is booked on its own, no package required.

The work that comes after the storage

Once the floor is clear and everything has a place, most people notice the same thing: the garage is now the biggest usable room in the house, and it is still finished like a storage closet.

These are the jobs that change that. None of them require a package, and none of them require each other, book the one you want. If the problem is that you cannot see what you are doing, that is garage lighting, which is its own service.

Garage TV mounting

Garage gyms, workshops, and the bay that turns into somewhere to watch a game with the door up. Mounting a screen in a garage is not quite mounting one in a living room, and the differences are worth knowing before the bracket goes on the wall.

The wall decides the fixing. A framed, drywalled wall takes a mount through the studs, and we locate them properly rather than trusting a magnet. Plenty of older Northeast Florida garages have concrete block behind the paint, which needs the right anchors in the block itself: not into the mortar joints, which is where a cheap install ends up and why those brackets eventually sag.

Heat and humidity matter. Garage air sits hotter and damper than the rest of the house, and heat rises. Mounting a screen tight against the ceiling above a west-facing door is asking it to cook. We place it where you will actually watch it from and where air can move behind it.

Tilt, or full motion. Over a bench or a lifting platform you are usually looking up, so a tilting mount earns its place. If the screen has to serve both the workbench and the open door, full motion is the answer. We will tell you which your layout wants rather than selling you the bigger bracket.

Cables, within limits. We route and tidy the cable run so it is not hanging down the wall. What we don’t do is add an outlet or run new power, the socket has to already be there. If it is not, that is an electrician, and we will say so at the estimate.

Good to know

What we don’t do

New outlets, new circuits and anything else needing a licensed electrician are other trades. A TV mount goes next to a socket that already exists, and we route the cable to it rather than moving the power.

Construction, drywall repair and mounting into unsuitable or damaged surfaces are also outside what we do. If a wall will not safely hold what you want on it, we will say so at the estimate rather than fixing it up and hoping.

Questions

Garage upgrade questions

No. TV mounting and mirrors are both standalone services. You can book one of them with no organizing or storage work at all.

Yes. Block needs the right anchors set into the block itself rather than the mortar joints, which is the difference between a mount that holds and one that eventually pulls. Plenty of older garages here are block behind the paint, and we check before quoting.

No. We mount the screen and tidy the cable run, but the outlet has to already be there. Adding one means new wiring, which is a licensed electrician’s job: we will tell you at the estimate if that is what yours needs.

$399 for up to 4 × 4, $549 for up to 4 × 8, and $699 for up to 4 × 12, including the mirror, mounting, alignment, finished edges and clean-up. Larger sizes, multiple panels or a custom layout are quoted. Those prices assume a drywall or wood-stud wall; block is quoted at the estimate.

The garage is what we do. Mounting in a garage brings its own questions: block walls, heat, humidity and where the door travels: and that is the work we have set ourselves up for.
